ALEA III Celebrates Musical Youth

A celebration of youth worldwide, the 2004 Athens Olympics are approaching fast.
Alongside the sports a cultural Olympiad is going on.

ALEA III, Theodore Antoniou music director,
in collaboration with the internationally acclaimed pianist Konstantinos Papadakis and his young students,
will participate in the worldwide event presenting a concert entitled

ALEA III Celebrates Musical Youth

on Sunday, April 25, 2004
at Tsai Performance Center, 685 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston.

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
and it will feature young pianists (7-15 years of age)
performing piano concertos accompanied by an orchestra made up of young musicians,
primarily associated with the Boston University Music Department.

This will be a wonderful event celebrating talent, youth, music and culture.
 

Piano Concertos by:

J. Haydn - Concerto in F Major,
W. A. Mozart - Concerto No. 21, KV 467,
C. Saint-Sa‘ns - The Carnival of the Animals,
M. Ravel - Concerto for the Left Hand

as well as world premieres by

T. Antoniou and A. Darlas.
 

The young soloists:

Winnie Chow, Abraham Ho, Peggy Hwan, Erik and Nathan Kong,
Brian and William Tam, Edwin To, Bonnie Tung,
Thomas Wong, Antonia Yang, Andrew Yeung

Konstantinos Papadakis will perform the Ravel Piano Concerto for the Left Hand

Gunther Schuller (Ravel)
James Yannatos (Saint-Sa‘ns),
Jin Kim (Haydn, Mozart) and
Theodore Antoniou (Antoniou, Darlas)
 
 

$50.00 general admission
$10.00 for students with valid I.D,
$5.00 for children under 12.

Group rates available.
 

This is the only fundraising event ALEA III will hold this year.
Donations are accepted and are tax deductible.

Boston UniversityÕs Tsai Performance Center is located on the B branch of the MBTA Green Line,
at the Boston University East stop, and is wheelchair accessible.
