Special event for the premiere performance of the finalists' works. At the end of the concert, the ALEA III Prize will be awarded by a distinguished panel of judges.

Theodore Antoniou will conduct works which bring together elements of Western European and American concert music along with elements of non Western traditions. Jazz, Asiatic and eastern musical traditions have been the source of inspiration for the following works:

  • Michael Adamis (Greece) Kratema, for voice and tape
  • James Boznos (USA) Shadow Puppets II, for oboe and ensemble
  • Yorgos Adamis (Greece) Rhinotilikus Ulni, for double folk flute, tilinko and tape
  • Paquito D'Rivera (Cuba) Aires Tropicales, for woodwind quintet

Soloists:
