The following note is provided by the composer:
“A Restless Octet" was composed in 2012 to honor Boston University's Violoncello department professors and their students. Like most of my works it is written in a narrative form with a virtuosic character and an idiomatic approach to the instruments. Unlike other works of mine, it is mostly homophonic with frequent use of imitations and short canons based on 12 tone scales. I would like to dedicate this piece to the young performers and their professors as a small tribute for their impressive work.”
This is a live archival recording.
